Double digits- 10 months!

Andrew is 10 months old today!  Am I really going to have a 1 year old in just 2 months??

You weigh 19 1/2 pounds.

I have packed away SO many clothes this past month.  There is nothing 6 months left in your closet (a couple of 6-9 pajamas but I don't count those). You are in mostly 6-12 months or 9 months.

You wear a size 4 diaper.

You never stop moving!! You have really taken off with your walking the past 2 weeks.  You were doing great walking from person to person, but now you will walk anywhere and everywhere.  You enjoy this new freedom.

You got sick for the very first time.  I think you picked up Hand, Foot and Mouth either at your 9 month check up or the church nursery.  Either way, you started running a high fever on a Tuesday and you just didn't feel well.  The next day, you had spots! Your fever was gone and you were acting normal so you were just spotty for a few days.  I am very glad you handled it so well!

You have cut your third tooth!  It's just barely there.. the little tooth hole is but the actual tooth has come down yet.  If that makes any sense!

Your sleep has been pretty everywhere..you were doing great but I think the tooth messed you up for a couple of weeks.  Hopefully we are past that and can go back to sleeping through the night.. like, every night.

I think you have started figuring out what "no no" means.  It's usually in regards to the dog's water bowl and you pause when I say it.  Sometimes you actually stop but most of the time, you just pause and then keep going.

You are still a very talkative baby! You make so many different types of noises and they are so funny.  Right now, I think you are going through the stage of seeing how loud you can actually get.. which is pretty loud.

You have gotten super bad about staying still for diaper changes.  You try and roll over as fast as you can and take off naked.  It's a job keeping you still!

Each month gets better than the last!  I know I have said it before, but I love this age and seeing something new each day! You are a very special boy and I love you dearly!

The Exciting News!

Yes, our family is growing again!

We are so very excited to announce a new little Cole will be joining our family in March.

Yes, we are probably crazy for having two kids 17 months apart.. on purpose.  Believe it or not, we did give the timing a lot of thought. We knew we wanted a larger family and we knew we wanted the first two close in age.  Ideally, I would have liked 18 months to 2 years difference, but due to Sam's work schedule, it wouldn't have worked expecting a baby next summer so it was either early spring or later in the fall.  I wanted spring. :)

No, I don't plan on being pregnant for the next several years either.  I think we will have these two close together and then take a while to enjoy our family of four.  I know we won't be done after two but I'm not going for 3 under 3! I like to think for the third baby,  these two will be old enough to play and entertain each other while I cuddle and enjoy a newborn.  I have a feeling this go around it might be a bit more frantic than that.

It's a strange feeling knowing my time is so limited with Andrew now.  I guess bittersweet, don't get me wrong.. I'm very excited because I know this is the right decision for our family, but he's my baby and it is a bit sad to think there won't be enough of me to go around when I have a newborn again.  I'm pretty sure I would feel that way no matter how old he is though, which is a bit comforting.

As for the baby, I'll be 9 weeks on Friday!  I don't think I'm quite as sick as I was with Andrew.. I think with him I was throwing up every.single.day at this point but I already have medicine so that helps (I didn't get it until 11 weeks with Andrew). With this one, it's more just having that lingering nauseated feeling that lasts for most of the day.  It's like nothing sounds good.  I haven't cooked dinner in two weeks.. poor Sam.

I guess that is about it for the big update!

Happy 9 months!

My angel boy is 9 months old today!!

Here is what you are up to, Andrew..

You weigh 19.1 pounds (25%) and are 27" long (25%).

You have grown out of most of your 6 month clothing and have moved up to 9 months or 6-12.  You can even fit into some of your 9-12 month pajamas (!!)

You wear a size 4 diaper.

You love food!  I think bread is still your favorite but you sure do love pizza as well.

You can crawl everywhere.  You are always on the move.

You can also pull on on everything and you can stand unassisted as well.

You have started taking steps!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  You did it for the first time last week and you have gotten so much braver since than!  I have to make sure I am always watching because you are starting to let go of furniture and than taking off.  You will be full out walking very very soon!

You have also started saying mamama and dadada.  I'm sure there isn't a true association with the words, but I like to tell myself you know exactly what you are saying. :)

Your sleep is going pretty good.  You are generally down between 7-8 and will sleep to 6-7 on a good night.  After you go to bed you wake up usually once or twice before 10 but it's really quick, I think it just takes a little while for you to get settled in a deep sleep.  You are still taking a morning nap and then a longer 2-3 hour in the afternoon.

You have really started to pay attention to Cinder and Ella.  You get so excited sometimes and try to climb on them or pull their hair.  They do great with you and love their brother!

You have the BEST personality and I love seeing how happy of a boy you are.  I also get so tickled sometimes seeing you throw a little fit when I tell you no no (usually just for putting things in your mouth).  I think I had my first true act of defiance from you the other day.  You were putting something in your mouth and I told you no and started walking towards you, and you turned your back on me!  Little stinker!

You are a busy, busy boy and keep me going all the time.. but I wouldn't have it any other way.  I love you so incredibly much!

Standing all by yourself!

Summer Happenings

It seems like we have had so much going on lately that has kept us busy!

Andrew's second tooth finally came in!  My mom told the bottom two usually come in very close together.  Not the case for Andrew, he waited a whole month in between those two teeth.  He looks like such a little boy with his toothy grin now.

We officially have a crawler! I honestly didn't think he would take to it as well as he has, just because he is so much more interested in being on his feet walking around, but he has done great!  He started scooting a couple of weeks ago and then all of a sudden was able to pick himself off the ground and actually go somewhere.  He has gotten fast now too!  Last night I was turning his bath water on, turned around to get him and he was half way down the hall.  Naked.  Then today I was loading the dishwasher and hear water, he was playing in the dog's water bowl.  He is a mess!

Even with his new found freedom of crawling, he hasn't given up his dream of walking. If you let him, he will "walk" around the entire house all day long.  I don't let him because I think my back has officially given out on me from being bent over so much. You put him down on his bottom and he is going to find something to pull himself up with (usually it's me).  He will cruise around furniture with no fear now, sometimes resulting in fall and bumps on the head. but he handles those pretty well.  I think once he gets a little more leg strength and balance he will be all over the place walking!

Last Friday, a precious new baby joined our family!  Levi is now a big brother to Maggie James.  She is beautiful and has been such a good baby so far.  I know most newborns are usually great, but I think at this point Levi was already driving his parents crazy (I don't think he ever slept).

As for a house update, we are finally ready to get work started!  I feel like this process has taken forever, but we ended up making a lot of changes to the plans, so things got pushed back. All the paperwork is coming to an end and dirt work is expected to start next week. We were hoping to be in and settled this fall but it's looking like it will be December/January before it's move in ready.  I'm just going to enjoy one last holiday season in my first home.

That's all I can think of that has been filling our days lately.  For some reason, I like July more than I do June so I'm ready to welcome the last summer month.  (I start counting August as my pre-fall month. It's also when I allow myself to start watching Christmas movies and listening to Christmas music, I like to get in the spirit early.)

8 months!

Andrew is 8 months old today!!

We just moved you up to a size 4 diaper. You have some chunky legs!

You still wear 3-6 or 6-12 in clothes, just depending on the outfit.

You take two naps a day now. Usually a shorter one in the morning and a longer 2-3 hour one in the afternoon.

Speaking of sleep, it has gotten so, so, so much better this month!! You are finally back sleeping through the night. Sometimes you will wake up once or twice but most nights you are asleep until 6ish the next morning. The only catch is, gettin you to sleep can be a bit of a nightmare. Bedtime starts around 7 and it can be a 2-3 hours process. The problem is you go to bed great the first time but will only sleep about an hour. You wake up and think that was just a nap. I try not to complain because I'm just thankful for sleep!

You love food!! You eat everything! Your favorites right now are tomatoes, still bread, and different types of pasta (I think you enjoy the tomato sauce on it). I'm so glad you take after your dad and aren't picky.

You finally have a tooth!! It broke through right after you turned 7 months. 3 weeks later, you still only have that one but I think the second is close. I can see and feel it, but it's not through yet.

You have no interest in crawling and cry when I try and make you. You have started a little bit of an army crawl but would much rather be walking (me holding your hands and letting you walk). You want to do this all day long. (I blame your crazy cousins you are trying to keep up with!)

You can stand on your own for several seconds. You want to take a step (you actually did today) but you can't figure it out yet though, your top and bottom parts aren't working together!  I think I am so ready for you to be able to walk, but at the same time, I'm not.  I'm ready for a break and you to be able to do it yourself, but I'm not ready to chase you down!

This age is so much fun!! You are becoming such a little boy instead of a baby. You are my sweet, precious baby boy and I couldn't imagine loving you anymore, but I swear I do each day.

May Happenings..

May has been such a crazy month and it flew by! It started out busy and is still going strong now that we are at the end of the month.

On the 11th, we celebrated Levi's first birthday! We just had a little family party that night. Can you tell this boy is spoiled??

Opening his presents, with a helper Andrew

Cousins with all of Levi's presents

The next day (on Andrews 7 month birthday!) Ashlea threw Levi a sesame street themed party. I think Andrew loved the ball pit more than anything else!

A week later on the 18th, It was Charlotte's first time to turn one! Megan threw her a little party. I'm pretty positive Levi thought it was his party again. Megan did a great job because he actually  liked Charlotte's more than his!

Babies at Charlotte's party

Charlotte got a new turtle sandbox (with no sand) which Andrew loved.  Apparently, he just needs the simple things sometimes!

That same afternoon, we loaded up for a week to the beach. Me and Andrew rode down with my mom since Sam couldn't take off the whole week. Once Sam made it down, we got to celebrate with a date night to the movies. We haven't seen a movie since before Andrew was born and it was so nice!

Cousins in crab pajamas

Such a handsome boy!

It's always nice to get away and do something different but I'm thankful to to be home. I missed my bed and I think Andrew did as well. He had a couple rough night while we were there and guess what I like to blame?

A tooth!  Finally, the poor boy has been working on it forever!

I think June may be a bit more low key which is fine with me. We don't have anything exciting planned until the end of the month when our family will grow once more! Maggie will be here in just a few short weeks!

Andrew is 7 months!

My sweet boy is 7 months old!

Let's see what you are up too..

You weight about 17 pounds.

You are in a size 3 diaper and 3-6 (and some 6-12) month clothes.  You are in 6-9 month pajamas though.

You are a night owl.  You go to bed between the hours of 9-11 most nights.  Seriously.  There are still several nights you get up but at the same time you will sleep through until 6ish.  This is something you got from you daddy because I still need my sleep 7 months later. (Last night you did sleep 9-6 straight which was a-maz-ing.. let's go for that again!)

You talk.  All the time.  You have started making this dinosaur/alien shrill sound and you love hearing it. I record videos of you doing it and you like to watch yourself, I think you think you have found someone that speaks your language (got that idea from Aunt Meg!)

You want to be moving so bad!  When someone holds you, you are constantly kicking your legs wanting to go somewhere.  You have also started taking "steps" while I hold your hands.  As for crawling, you can lean forward and get on your tummy, but you haven't figured out pushing yourself up.  That is perfectly fine because I have a feeling once you start moving, you won't stop.

You try and pull up on everything!  I thought you sitting by yourself would be easier but now I can't turn my back on you because you are trying to pull up on something.

I feel like it took you forever to eat baby food and now I think you are done with it.  You want real food.  I try and give you a little bit of whatever we are eating.  Your favorites are watermelon and any type of bread (finally, something you got from me!).

It is so funny how totally different you are then I ever imagined.  When I was pregnant, you were such a calm baby.  I never felt you really kick, I would just feel a roll and shift of positions.  I would sit in the sonogram room forever because you wouldn't budge out of the position you were in.  I just knew you would be laid back and calm.  You can be very laid back but at then five minutes later, you are the exact opposite. Of course, I love my crazy boy!  I just think you might be right along Levi (and Maggie most likely) causing trouble .. Charlotte is going to have her hands full of taking care of yall!

Cinder and Ella

Or cinderella as I like to say..

Going from the adjustment from one dog to two hasn't been too bad! The first two weeks, I thought we had made a terrible decision and I was trying to figure out how to back track. Don't get me wrong, cinder was fine but Ella couldn't stand her, I had to get use to her crazy puppy energy and the countless trips outside when I'm trying to get the baby asleep.

Now everything feels normal, it's amazing how quick you can get used to something! Ella is great with her and they actually play together! The only time ella gets frustrated is when it's night time and Ella is ready for bed. Cinder is also great at potty training. She goes right on the pad when she is on her pin and now will go to the backdoor when she needs to go. So much different than Ella!!

We have started leaving cinder out of the pin for short periods while we are gone. She doesn't get into trouble, I just didn't want accidents. So far, so good! Ella still has horrible separation anxiety so I'm hoping having cinder out will help.

It's amazing how I have two dogs of the exact same breed but how completely opposite they are. Cinder is a dog and knows it. Ella is a dog but please don't tell her. I love both of my girls though and am glad we are a family of 5 now!

Half a year!!

Happy six months to my sweet boy! It blows my mind to think you are halfway to a year! I want these next six months to go by slowly!

Here is Andrew's monthly recap:
You weigh 16 pounds and are 26" long. You have moved up to the 25% for weight (50% for height) but you feel like such a chunk! You have come so far from that tiny little baby we left the hospital with.

You are in 3-6 month clothing the majority of time. I see you sticking in this size a while longer. You can fit into some 6-9 but at the same time, you still have several 3 month outfits you can wear. Baby sizing makes no sense.

You are in size 3 diaper.

You are sitting up BY YOURSELF!! I'm so proud!! You started a couple weeks ago doing a few seconds at a time and all of a sudden you just started doing it without falling over (most of the time). I still don't feel comfortable enough leaving you sitting without being right there, but it has already made things so much easier.

I don't know if sleep is something I really want to remember at this point..
I have no idea what is going on and I have no idea what to expect when I go to bed. You may be up every 3 hours or you may sleep until 6 the next morning. It's anyone's guess at this point. Fortunately, you usually eat and go right back to sleep if it's in the middle of the night, even though we were up from 1-3 wide awake the other night.

No teeth.. Yet.

You eat baby food twice a day now. You seem to like most everything. Favorites would be apricot and apples. Also banana/orange mix is a hit. You also have started 'snack' food. You get mum mums now! You have started reaching for and grabbing my food occasionally but you don't seem incredibly interested in table food. I say that but today you were eating a French fry off my plate when I wasn't paying attention and you dived into my mashed potatoes at dinner!

Your hair is definitely coming in more and more. It's blonde and sticks straight up. I love it!

You are getting to be at such a fun age. I love getting to watch you play and interact!

You are such a sweet boy (most of the time!) and I love you so incredibly much!!

Pregnancy survey

I saw this fun pregnancy survey on someone's blog and I thought it would be fun to fill out. It will be a good way to help me remember and also to celebrate Andrew's upcoming six month birthday.

Here it goes..

How long were you pregnant? 36 weeks 2 days. Almost made it to 36 weeks, 3 days.

Did you get the dreaded black line on your tummy? Kind of, sort of. I had a faint line but it didn't show up until after. Or maybe I just didn't notice until then.

Did you get any stretch marks? No, I was very lucky. I honestly started rubbing that coco butter lotion the week I found out I was pregnant.  I also drank a ton of water which I think helped a lot.

Did your belly button pop out? It flattened out. Very strange.. and I didn't like it.

How much weight did you gain? 17 pounds.

How much left do you have to lose? 3 pounds. I'm pretty sure it's not going away either because I've been stuck there forever. Maybe I should work out and do something about it.. Maybe..

What was the worst thing about labor? The end.. Definitely. My epidural had worn off about 3 hours before Andrew was born. Since I was close to the end, they didn't do anything about it. I kept telling the nurses I could feel everything and started moving my legs to show them, they told me that was a good thing! It truly did help with knowing when to push but I didn't enjoy it at the time.

What was the best thing about labor? Obviously, seeing Andrew for the first time. Once he came out, it happened really fast and I didn't know. Seeing him for the first time is like a permanent picture etched in my head. I know it's super cheesy but it really does make everything worth it.

How long did you push? 1 1/2 hours. That was something I wasn't prepared for. You always see it on TV  and it's like a 5 minute process, I assumed that is what it would be like. The good thing is, I hear it's usually much quicker with future children.

Were you embarrassed about being all out there? Not at all. I think after 18 of being in labor, any and all modesty go flying out the window.  You want that baby OUT!

Did anything funny happy in labor? Not really funny, but through out the day the nurses keep asking me if I wanted anything. I told them I couldn't wait to have a diet come after he was here. Literally, he was here for maybe, maybe 3 minutes and my nurse came running in with a diet coke. I had my drink before I even held Andrew!

Also, I kept telling Sam it was his turn to do something. He didn't ever take me up on that offerj, though.

How was your recovery? Honestly, it was very easy which I was/am thankful for. I was sore for a couple of days but not really a big deal. At the time, while in the hospital, I was convinced me and Sam would be divorced by the time we made it home. During the night, I had a really hard time getting out of the bed to get Andrew, diapers and all that good stuff and Sam would be dead asleep. Snoring.  I kept throwing pacifiers at him to try and get him to wake up, it didn't work. Once we got him back in his bed at home he was a much better help!

Did Andrew look like you were expecting him to? Yes and no. I pictured him with dark hair but his actual looks weren't what I was expected. I was expecting a mini Sam and he actually looked much more McGuire-ish than I ever would have though. Of course, that lasted all of one week and I did end up with my mini Sam :)

How was your hospital stay? I'll start out by staying, the nurses I had were all wonderful! While in labor, I ended up going through 4 shift changes so I had plenty of nurses. You know they were good when their top priority was getting me that diet coke! The recovery nurses were great as well but I was so over the hospital at that point.
Also, I was there entirely too long. I checked in Tuesday night for my induction but since I tested positive for group b AND because I technically didn't make it to the recovery room until after midnight, I had to stay 2 nights, which meant leaving Saturday. I was going stir crazy in there.

So, that's all about per/after Andrew! It's So crazy to me that this was all happening six months ago!

Catching up..

I figure I better do a quick update before I'm writing Andrew's six month update! March has been a busy, busy month and it's really hard to believe that it's almost over. Let's see what we have been up too..

Andrew made his third trip down to the beach for spring break. This was actually his first time to go out to the beach and get in the pool. He did great! He enjoyed watching the waves and sitting in the little pool we had on the beach. He also tested out the big pool a couple of times. He did okay, I don't think he really knew what to think/do but it was a good introduction for him. I can't wait to see how he does this summer when he is a little bigger!

Testing out the pool

Then the pool..

Also, we have some big news we have been working on! Sam and I are building a house! We bought a lot at the beginning of the month and are working on house plans right now. We are hoping on having everything move in ready by early fall.

Another big event, was our little family grew a bit!  Sam and I had been talking about getting another dog.  We thought it could really help Ella with her separation anxiety, especially with another move coming up.  We went back and forth and one dad my grandmother called (she works at the vet's clinic) and told me she had a lady that had a female shih tzu puppy she was giving away.  Decision made!

Meet Cinder

Cinder really has been a fantastic puppy so far.  She is 100 times better than Ella ever was as a puppy (and now, haha!) She does great being left in her pen, doing pretty good potty training and is just pretty low maintenance in general.  Finally, after about 3 weeks, Ella is staring to warm up to her and is acknowledging her, even playing with her a good bit now.

Now for some random Andrew tid bits:

Andrew has started sitting up by himself! He will only do it if he is in the mood and can maintain it for about 5-10 seconds but I say it still counts. I'm trying to let him get a lot of practice in but he still gets a little too excited and kicks back.

I think he has a tooth coming in.  My mom spotted the little white spot and sure enough, it's there.  I don't really feel anything yet.  I would like to think this might be to blame for his sleeping schedule right now.  He was doing GREAT and sleeping in to 6 every morning.  This week has been a nightmare.  I'm talking up for the day at 4:30 in the morning.  I know he isn't a bad sleeper and people have it so much worse, but it's just such a tease when he has been doing such a good job.

Now to finish up.. just because I think he is so cute!

Five Months!

I know, I have majorly slacked off with the blog.  I considered just dropping it, but I still think it will be fun to go back and look at, so I'm still at it.. for now.

Anyways, Andrew, you are five months old now!  I feel like you are 0% baby now and 100%  big boy!

You weigh about 14 pounds.  I have weighed you on a couple of different home scales and that is what I keep getting so we will go with that!

We just moved you up to size 3 diapers.  Actually, the exact same size your cousin Charlotte is in right now.. you must be turning into a chunky boy!

You wear mostly 3-6 in clothes but still have a handful of 3 months that you fit into.  You must have short legs because your shorts are always capris or pants on you.

Your sleep has been all over this month.  I have no idea what happened to you, but you went through a good 2 or 3 weeks of waking up randomly during the night.  You never have been a bad sleeper, but it was hard to go through when you were sleeping through the night.  Right now, you seem to be doing pretty good.  I don't feel like you have really got yourself back on a schedule but you seem to be sleeping until 5 at least.

You have been fighting naps with everything you have in you lately.  Usually, you eat and then fall asleep that way.  If I miss that window, all hell breaks lose. I've noticed that you sleep well on the go so fortunately, we don't deal with that while we are out in public.  You still take several naps a day, usually only going 2 hours max between them.

We started baby food right at four months.  I don't think you had a true interest so we backed off for a couple of weeks.  We started back about 2 weeks ago and it seems like you know what you are doing now.  The only vegetable you will eat is sweet potatoes.  You really like apples, pears, bananas, and fruit mixes.

You have become very interested in toys.  Mostly just holding onto them and bringing them to your mouth.  You love, love, love toys you can hold on your own and fit in your mouth. You are also just as entertained by grabbing your clothes or a wash cloth and trying to eat that.

Your hair is finally coming back in! It's blonde!  I always pictured a little boy with dark hair, especially once you came out with dark hair but right now, I'm loving my blond hair, blue eye little boy!

You sit well assisted, but are definitely not ready to do it on your own.

I love you my sweet, sweet boy!

Four months!!

Andrew, you are four months old today! Geeze Louise, that's 1/3rd of a year!

Let's see what you have been up too..

You weigh right at 13 pounds and are 24" inches long. You had a major growth spurt this month and gained three pounds!!

You are in a size 2 diaper.

You were mostly 3-6 clothes but have a few 0-3 that still fit. I packed a good bit of clothes up recently and it made me realize how tiny you really were, especially when I ran across your preemie outfits.

Knock on wood, you are sleeping through the night! You usually go to bed between 7-7:30 and are up between 5-5:30. Sometimes you will go back to sleep right then but a lot of mornings you are up for the day then. You still take several naps during the day and you get very cranky if you don't get your sleep. (finally, you take after me somehow!)

You started baby food this week. You weren't interested in cereal so we moved straight to the real stuff. So far you have had bananas and sweet potatoes. The potatoes are a huge hit!

You still don't have a real interest in toys but you have started grabbing at things now. The toys on your bouncy seat are still a favorite because they are right in front of you and easy to reach.

Your favorite thing right now is probably your fingers. They are always in your mouth! This is making baby food even more fun, it's a game to see how messy you can get. Getting dressed is another adventure, I try and get your hands through as fast as I can before you start eating your clothes.

You are still working on your back strength/sitting up. You can do it with support (like in my lap with my support). I feel like life will be so much easier when you can sit on your own but we will get there! :)

Andrew, you are an absolute joy and I love getting to see you grow and change each day. I want to be sad that you are growing out of te baby, baby stage but then I'm too excited for the next stage.

Every night before I go to bed I always go check on you in your room. I just stand over your crib and thank God for you. I swear, my heart literally aches with how much I love you. Especially when you are soundly sleeping for the night, just kidding! I definitely have my moments were I'm exhausted and not sure what I am doing but I sure wouldn't change it!

A big week for Andrew!

I feel like I started out this week with a little baby and now half way through he has grown up!

It all first started Saturday.. Andrew rolled over for the very first time!  I actually wasn't expecting it at all.  He was on his stomach and I was showing my mom how well he holds himself up, and then off he goes.  He has done it a handful of times since then but it still takes him a couple of minutes so he still gets frustrated a good bit of the time.

Starting out

going..

going..

Gone!

Monday, Andrew had his 4 month (!!) check up.  He weighs 12.13 and is 24" long.  He has gained almost 3 pounds in 1 month!  He is now up to the 25% which is huge since he started below the 3rd.  He is making up for lost time! He was given the green light to start baby food so that has been an adventure in itself.

I started with the cereal which he hated.  It was so funny because he literally clamped his mouth shut and refused to open it.  I moved on the applesauce but he hated that as well.  Tonight we tried bananas and it was a success!

Not impressed!
I can tell you, Andrew did not tolerate his shots that well this time.  At 2 months, he just slept a lot more.  This time, the fussiness was definitely there.  They still made him extra tired, but he is already cranky enough if he is tired so I think he gave me a double dose the past two days.  I'm hoping it is all out of his system and we are back on track tomorrow.

My sweet little newborn has turned into a big boy!  Good thing it's just more of him to love! :)

January Happenings

With January almost over I figured it would be a good time to update what Andrew has been up too, because he is a busy boy after all.

We have passed out from a trip to the doctor

Really, we have just passed out a lot

We have had lots of cuddle time with Mommy (and sometimes Ella)

We have played with toys

We have chewed our hands

We made it through our very first cold, with special thanks to Moo Cow humidifier

I would say it's been a pretty good January so far!

3 months!

Andrew, you are three months old today!!

Last week at the doctor, you were 10 lbs even and 22" long.  You feel so much bigger to me but I think it is because you have pretty much doubled your birth weight now.

You are completely out of newborn clothing and are in 0-3 months. I have even put up a few 0-3 months outfits because you have outgrown them in length.  I think you are beginning that transition period where you are in between sizes.

You are in size one diaper.

Last week you went through a major growth spurt, for 2 days solid you pretty much ate all.day.long.  You would be okay and then all of a sudden start screaming bloody murder and you wouldn't stop until you had food in your mouth.  I actually took you to the doctor because I was worried something else might be wrong but you are perfectly healthy!  I have increased your bottles to 5 oz and that seems to keep you pretty satisfied right now.

Sleep wise, you are still pretty much the same.  Usually waking up twice a night.  The week after Christmas you slept from 8-4:30 three nights in a row.  Must have been a fluke because it hasn't happened since!  Usually we get from 7:30 to around 2 so at least you are giving us a long stretch.

You are such a happy baby!!  You still love being talked to and you will talk back now.  You are full of smiles most of the time!  I thought you would be quiet but I think you will be a talker.

You have discovered my hair and you constantly have a grab on it.  Most of the days, my hair is back in a pony tail because of this.

You have also discovered your hands and they are always in your mouth.  Sometimes you try and fit both in at the same time.

You are the sweetest boy.  I swear I fall in love with you more every day.  One of my favorite things to do is hold you when you are napping and just cuddle with you.  I know you will be too big too soon so I'm enjoying it now!  I love you my sweet boy!

New Year's

Can I just start off by saying I feel a major sense of accomplishment by having my blog carry over to a new year?  I feel like it means something to have posts from 2012 and 2011.. even if I only started it with a month left of 2011.

Another first has come and gone as we celebrated Andrew's very first New Year, which we did at the beach so it was, of course, wonderful.  We left LATE Friday night and arrived at about 2 in the morning.  It was nice since Andrew slept the entire way but not so nice when he was ready to wake up at 6 the next morning.

We didn't do a whole lot of anything while we were down there, it was just nice to get away and do something different.  I can't wait until next time we are at the beach because Andrew will be at such a fun age and he will really get to experience the beach.

I don't really make New Year's resolutions but I am looking forward to starting back walking.  I used to walk every single day and I haven't in, oh, about a year.  I swear I probably stopped the day I found out I was pregnant.  Lately, Ella is lucky if she gets a trip around the block. For my sake, it is really hard to find the time/energy when you are sick for 8 whole months.  I guess I will say my resolution is just to enjoy Andrew and all the stages that he is going through.  I might be exhausted by the end of the day but I don't really see that coming to an end in the near future so might as well enjoy it all!

Here is to a great 2012!!
